A fabulous Brooklyn Burns Night celebrating the life and work of Scotland’s bard, Robert Burns. Drams, songs, live Scottish traditional music, toasts and delicious haggis with Battlefield Band and Daimh fiddler, Alasdair White, piper Andrew Forbes, Matthew Christian, Karen Brown, Pamela Agaloos, Tiffany Knight, Max Carmichael, Calum Pasqua, Matt Diaz. We’re delighted to return to Monday night tunes at Iona, weekly from Monday September 18th. Iona is at 180 Grand Street, Brooklyn on the L and M subway lines. As well as tunes from 9-12 on Mondays, there’s an excellent craft beer selection and full kitchen serving delicious food from the grill every night of the week. Join us this Monday and every Monday for tunes at the session, all welcome.
Amy Beshara is a performer, teacher and lover of Cape Breton style fiddle playing. She’s recently returned from a trip to Nepal where she shared tunes with traditional musicians. We’re excited to have her back at Iona on Monday 18th September from 9pm to lead the session.
Regular Monday night session tonight Monday 10th March, from 8.30pm .. first week for ages that it’s not Polar Vortex freezetastic- choice! Next week, Monday 17th, the Iona St Pat’s with Amy Beshara, Max Carmichael and Andrew Forbes hosting is 5-10pm to avoid the madness, one for the early birds and mellow fellows. Éirinn go Brách!
